LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A new CNN/ORC Poll indicates 40 percent of Republican voters across the nation claim they will vote for the man who stands for tighter immigration laws and using an increase in the debt ceiling as a bargaining chip.
Though Trump has a history of eccentric behavior, America seems to be enamored with his straightforward, no-nonsense methods and speeches.
Ted Cruz falls at second place, but the gap is a 22 percent difference, with Cruz's poll indicating only nineteen percent of Republicans plan to vote for him.Marco Rubio falls dismal reports of a mere 8 percent.
On Thursday night a Fox News Republican debate is set to take place without frontrunner Trump, who has expressed his dislike of Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who moderated the first GOP debate in August last year.
Kelly opened the debate by asking Trump about his derogatory comments about women. Following the debate, Trump openly complained that Kelly's line of questioning was inappropriate, as he never meant to by misogynistic.
According to The Washington Post, the real reason Trump has decided to sit out the debate, which is one of the final changes for candidates to turn their numbers around, is because he is simply tired of debating.Trump spoke to reporters and asked, "Why should the networks continue getting rich on the debates?"
In place of the debate, Trump will be holding a rally tonight, where thousands are expected to attend. It is believed that his strategy of attacking Cruz has paid off, with remaining candidates attacking Cruz or each other. Should Trump attend the debate, tides can turn and his six-month lead would potentially come to an end.
According to the CNN/ORG Poll, 56 percent of registered voters believe Trump will win the Republican candidacy.
Will Trump conquer all? Can tonight's debate turn the tide? We'll all just have to wait and see.
