PART 3 - Obama slips about his Muslim faith, over and over and over again

Obama is a Muslim, and he's made the mistake of displaying it.

In this third part of our series exploring the Muslim faith of President Obama, we examine several statements that suggest he is a Muslim, but continues to hide the fact from the public.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - We have already established that Obama had a Muslim childhood, attending Islamic classes and excelling in his studies. However, his Muslim faith was not something he abandoned in childhood. It seems that Obama has kept his faith, and that it has slipped out on occasion.

A teacher from his school days in Jakarta told reporters that Obama would pray the salat, a prayer that makes anyone who says it a Muslim, in their belief. He also knows the adhan, the Sunni call to prayer. This also serves as a Muslim profession of faith. It goes:

God is the greatest.
I testify that there is no deity but God.
I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God.
Come to prayer.
Come to success.
God is the greatest.
There is no deity except God.

Anyone who recites these words is a Muslim by self-profession. Obama professed these words during an interview with Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Times in 2007, presumably in an effort to demonstrate his knowledge of Islam. He succeeded. Kristof said his accent was "first-rate." Obama's recitation of these prayers, both as a child and as a presidential candidate makes Obama a Muslim, a religion from which one cannot depart.

In September 2008, Obama slipped during an interview with George Stephanopoulos, referring to "my Muslim faith." Stephanopoulos caught the slip and corrected Obama, and Obama agreed he was a Christian. This is a curious slip. How often do people mistakenly profess themselves to belong to an entirely different religion?

In speeches delivered to Muslim audiences around the world, Obama allegedly uses greetings and phrases that are exclusive to one Muslim speaking to another. He has referred to "The Holy Koran," "The Right Path," and to Islam being "revealed" in perfect Arabic to audiences on several occasions. These phrases are understood and appreciated by fellow Muslims, and are never used by non-Muslims.

When Obama has spoken about Jesus, he has said "Peace be upon Him" as one speaks of the dead. Christians do not believe Jesus to be dead or to need a call for a blessing. Such a petition is reserved for the dead alone.

These slips of the tongue and insider comments when he thinks nobody is watching him reveal that he is proficient in Islam and that he knows the prayers. He can possibly speak some Arabic and can do so with a perfect accent.

Speaking perfect Arabic, reciting a Muslim prayer, and speaking to Muslims like members of an elect group is not something Christians do. Has Obama been lying about his true faith?
