LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A female committee member, who wished to remain anonymous, told Daily Mail Online that the Democratic National Committee decided "early on" that the organization was all-in with Clinton.
Though she is a member of the DNC, the committeewoman has decided to support one of Clinton's rivals for the Democratic nomination. She claims Clinton is benefiting from favoritism within the Democratic party.
"The party's female leaders really want to make a woman the next president," she admitted before sharing a list of women she believes hold the "real power" within the organization and their goals to make Clinton the first woman to occupy the Oval Office. She explained how the DNC's goals clash with her own, stating: "I haven't heard anyone say we should make Hillary undergo a trial by fire. To the contrary, the women in charge seem eager, more and more, to have her skate into the general [election]. I have nothing against women in politics, [b]ut it's not healthy for the party if we get behind a woman because she's a woman, and risk having her implode after she's nominated because she isn't tested enough now."
When Clinton participated in 2007 and 2008's Democratic Party's presidential primary debates, she was the only candidate who participated in all 27 but lost to now-president Barack Obama. Now the DNC has only sanctioned six events, claiming more could allow indecisive Vice PresidentJoe Biden a greater opportunity to participate and potentially challenge Clinton.
DNC national press secretary Holly Shulman told Daily Mail Online that in addition to the six sanctioned debates, there would be four "outside" forums where each candidate will deliver individual remarks.
"Our debate in Nevada and our upcoming debates and forums will showcase all of our candidates' visions to move America forward," she claimed. "There's a lot at stake. The last time a Republican left office our economy was losing 750,000 jobs a month, countless homes were being foreclosed and too many families were being devastated.
These debates and forums are an opportunity for our candidates to introduce themselves and their vision to build on where we are now after 67 straight months of job growth."
Despite the committeewoman's claims and concerns, Shulman said, "The DNC runs an impartial primary process, period."
Five of the nine elected leaders of the DNC are women - including Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz - and several of the vice chairs. It boasts 488 members, with 75 nominated by the chairwoman. Democrats in each state and U.S. territory elect 200 members and state party committee chairs and vice-chairs are automatic members.
The unnamed committeewoman said "others in my position," referring to DNC members, share her concerns and have been discussing them outside DNC meetings. She continued to express her concerns with Clinton's capabilities, saying, "Is this a secret? I mean, all the energy is around Hillary right now, and we're pairing back the number of debates. That's going to give her a lot fewer opportunities to screw up."
The post-debate analysis on Tuesday night assessed Clinton's performance as a success. Unless she makes a serious mistake, her campaign can be compared to a "cakewalk."
