LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The State Department released 7,000 new Hillary Clinton emails to the media Monday night, with about 150 of those emails being redacted because they contained classified information.

The emails are standard fare, with Hillary discussing everyday world affairs. The Washington Post detailed some of her oddest emails including one that asked if Chinese carpets could be imported for her office, if carp could be imported from Israel, and if she should be flattered by a bank robber who wore a mask of her face to commit an armed robbery. Other emails were sent from her staff and show a lot of kissing up. This says a lot about her style and her preference. Hillary is surrounded by sycophants.

Despite the levity, the facts remain. Hillary Clinton stored emails on a private server, outside of government control, and this is illegal. Furthermore, she wiped these emails, against protocol. Finally, some of those emails contained classified information.

Any one of these crimes is worthy of jail time and the gears of justice will turn, even if inexorably slow, and they could grind Hillary's presidential campaign to a halt. Experts generally agree she will not see jail, but it could cost her the remainder of her political career.

The greater question, of course, is what harm did she cause by using a private server? Was she hacked? It was a hacker who revealed the existence of her private server to begin with. Why did she wipe her server? Obviously she sought to hide something.

The latest batch of emails contain standard communications revealing concern about Washington insiders such as Gen. Patraeus considering a White House bid, White House Chief of Staff John Podesta criticizing Obama (his boss), and so on.

More disturbingly, the emails suggest several dozen insiders were knowledgeable about her private email server, although techs from the State Department were kept in the dark.

The number of emails containing classified information on Clinton's server now totals 188.

As a nation, we need to decide if we want another executive who flagrantly disregards the law for their own convenience. When a private citizen flouts the law, we can them a criminal, a felon. It's time we call Hillary Clinton what she clearly is. A felon.
