LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The event will also feature Nikki Haley, the governor of South Carolina, and has been billed as a biblical response to America in crisis, to "gather in humility and repentance and ask God to intervene."
The group hopes to gain about 10,000 people, "a historic gathering of people from across the nation to pray and fast for America," in order to "worship God, seek repentance and pray for reconciliation, reformation and revival."
The event will be live-streamed on Breitbart News, and for anyone in need, "for life or for strong families."
Despite hints that Jindal has his sights on the White House, event organizers have said that the event is strictly spiritual in nature.
Doug Stringer, an organizer and Houston minister has said that the event is about worship, "no egos and no logos."
The president and founder of the American Renewal Project, David Lane, insists that the event is about fasting and prayer and is non-commercial and non-political.
"No DVD sales, no book sales, no T-shirt sales, no concession stand," said Lane. "Our goal is to restore America to a biblically based culture, and we recognize that only God can do it," he said.
Governor Haley was willing to attend because "faith has always been a source of strength for the governor and her entire family," a statement from her office said.
