LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - On the night four Americans died in the Benghazi, Libya terror attack, Clinton corresponded with her "closest aides" on how to handle the situation.
She asked her personnel what the best way to announce the death of "Chris Smith" would be. However, the U.S. ambassador to Libya that was murdered during the attack's name was not Chris Smith, it is Chris Stevens.
"Cheryl told me the Libyans confirmed his death," Secretary of State Clinton wrote. "Should we announce tonight or wait until the morning?"
The subject to the email was "Chris Smith."
Cheryl Mills, Clinton's chief of staff replied to the email, "We are awaiting formal confirmation from our team. We are drafting a statement while we wait."
During the entire conversation, that lasted over eight emails, not one of Clinton's correspondents corrected her on the name or even clarified who they were talking about.
A man named Sean Smith, a foreign service information management officer, was also killed during the attack. But it was Stevens' death that needed to be confirmed by Libyan authorities, as he was dragged to a hospital in hopes of still being alive.
As Clinton makes her rounds announcing her presidential candidacy, she has managed to avoid answering questions regarding the Benghazi scandal or her emails, only saying she is "happy the documents were being released," according to the Daily Mail.
