LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Senator Rubio will be the fourth person to officially announce intent to run in 2016 at a speech he will give before the historic Freedom Tower in Miami; following a Sunday announcement that Hillary Clinton will seek the nomination for the Democrat party, the third politician to enter the 2016 race.
Give the wisdom and love of God to a friend or loved one, or bring it into your home today!
The Associated Press revealed that earlier today Rubio spoke with donors over the phone, and told them that he felt he is "uniquely qualified" to hold the nation's highest office.
The Freedom Tower will be used to mark the stark contrast that makes up Rubio, whose parents fled to the U.S. from Cuba following the communist revolution that took place in 1959.
Previews of today's announcement which were released prior to the weekend showcased Rubio's origins, starkly contrasted with much of the other high-profile potential candidates, as well as his belief in America as an exceptional nation and actor on the world stage.
"The greatest thing that we can do for the world is be America," one clip of dialogue taken from Rubio's career said.
Another clip attacked President Obama and his administration's handling of the various issues which have arisen in the more than six years that he has had control.
"If we stay on the road that this administration and this congress has us on, then they will be part of the first generation of Americans to inherit from their parents a diminished country."
While Rubio is certainly getting his name out early, the slew of other Republicans who are waiting to jump into the race is massive. This includes New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Democrats do not face such a conflicted field, with Hillary Clinton being favored far and above all other potential candidates in the Democrat party.
