LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - President Trump, in a live statement, told America, "We know God lives in the hearts of those who grieves."
The President called all Americans to prayer and called upon our faith to see us through this incredible tragedy.
In making his statement, the President followed Pope Francis who also called upon all people to pray.
The only way to combat evil is though prayer, for though prayer we obtain conversion of the heart. A converted heart does no evil. There is no other way to make things better except though prayer.
If law could prevent evil, we would have no evil, for we have many laws. If force could stop evil, then there would be no evil, for we have plenty of police and plenty of lawful, prepared citizens.
Evil takes root in the heart and grows from there. We can only change the heart though prayer.
Let us call upon Our Lady, who has asked for the conversion of our hearts, to intercede for us in this dreadful hour. We dedicate our hearts to Jesus Christ, and we pray for His mercy as we ask for the conversion of all hearts and the dedication of our selves, our nation, and our world to God, whose Love, Justice, and Mercy are Righteous and Everlasting.
-We pray especially for the victims and their families.
-We also remember those in Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas, and elsewhere, who are struggling to survive and rebuild.
-We pray for our President, our government officials, our first responders and those who lead and those who labor in this difficult time.
-We pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis, may people heed his words and turn away from evil and senseless violence.
-We pray for the conversion of all hearts, may even the most wretched meet Christ and follow His way, that they may be made good and whole again.
Lord, hear our prayer, and grant us peace.
Amen
Please join us in prayer by lighting a candle now.
