Supreme Court halted lower court ruling so it can hear case.

The Supreme Court has blocked a girl from using the boy's restroom in the latest controversy over transgender bathroom laws. In a 5-3 vote the Supreme Court ordered a Virginia high school district to halt compliance with lower court order permitting the girl to use the boy's room.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Identified as Gavin Grimm, the student was born as a girl but identifies as male. As such, she goes by the name Gavin and has requested to use the boy's restroom at her high school in 2015. The school refused, so Grimm filed a lawsuit.

According to Grimm's attorneys, her rights were violated under Title IX, a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in schools. The law has been interpreted to allow students to use the restroom that corresponds to their chosen identity.

A lower court agreed with Grimm's lawyers and ordered the district to accommodate her preference. But, the Supreme Court has blocked the order to comply and will likely handle the case itself in the coming year.

A Supreme Court ruling would resolve the issue of which restrooms people are allowed to use. Until recently, males used restrooms designated for men and women used those designated for women. Occasionally, a transgendered person would use the restroom of their opposite gender, but this rarely created controversy because many of these individuals also dress and appear to be their opposite sex. Few people have had an issue with this. There are no known cases of a transgendered person committing a crime while using their preferred restroom.

However, people have recently become alarmed with permissive transgender restroom policies. The first policies emerged in the private sector and allowed people to use the facility that matches their chosen identity. As these policies became public, people began to worry that perverts and predators would also use the policies to gain access to the opposite sex for gratification.

To be clear, this is a problem with heterosexual people pretending to be something they are not to gain access to victims.

Now that the public has been sufficiently alarmed and distracted from other issues of the day, transgender restroom policies have become a major legal issue.

Regardless of the policies and laws and the eventual ruling of the Supreme Court, people cannot change their sex. Sex is hardwired into a person's DNA, which is permanent. People can change their appearance, and they can alter their bodies. They can convincingly use the restroom of the opposite sex. However, they will always be the sex of their birth, no matter what changes are made.

To imagine that biological sex is something that is chosen is ridiculous. To make this the centerpiece of national discussion during an age of terrorism and massive political corruption is even more ridiculous.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.
