'Cleanse your community of the filth that gives decent gay men and women a bad name.'

Less than one week following the horrific Orlando massacre, a Craigslist ad found in the men-seeking-men section revealed a threat of another attack for San Diego, California.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to 10News, the post was flagged and removed from the website on Tuesday; however, the San Diego Police Department and the FBI are investigating the post.

The post was titled "We need more Orlando's [sic]" and featured an image of a gun firing a bullet.

The post read: "Orlando was long overdue. Cleanse your community of the filth that gives decent gay men and women a bad name. Those people were walking diseases, bug chasers, and thank god for AIDS and now 9-11 and now Orlando. San Diego you are next..."

Prior to its removal, 10News took a screenshot and sent it to the San Diego Police Department and FBI.

Lt. Schott Wahlt, with the San Diego Police Department, reported the investigation is underway and extra officers are present in popular public locations.

FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth shared the bureau's Joint Terrorism Task Force, a multi-law enforcement agency, is working to discover the identity of the poster.

"This is something that's very serious, very concerning to all of us, especially given what's happened recently in Orlando," Foxworth stated, adding the FBI has received thousands of similar complaints across the nation.

"We are going to use all lawful means available to us, so if we have to go out and get a search warrant, we will do that. If it doesn't require a search warrant, we're going to do whatever it takes to do it in a lawful and legal matter," Foxworth declared.

The lieutenant said the city of San Diego has not currently received an official threat but authorities are keeping a watchful eye.

With the horrors of the Orlando shooting still fresh, Foxworth admitted, "We don't have the luxury of just looking at this and letting it go."

On Wednesday, San Diego Police Department Chief Shelley Zimmerman issued the following statement:

"The San Diego Police Department is aware of a recent post on Craigslist that has since been removed. We are investigating it collaboratively with our law enforcement partners. The latest information remains, there are no known credible threats to the San Diego region.

"As always, we encourage our community if they see something, hear something, or know something to say something."
