ACTIVE SHOOTER reported inside San Diego Navy medical center - but investigators have yet to find evidence

UPDATE: After an investigation, "absolutely nothing" was found to show gunshots were fired in the basement, according to Navy Capt. Curt Jones.
Authorities continue their search of the entire facility, and it is expected to take some time.
According to Jones, the person who made the initial report can be described as "someone who thought they heard something and made reports."

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Shots have been fired in Naval Medical Center San Diego's Building 26, according to the center's Facebook page.
Around 8:00 a.m. (PST) authorities responded to calls of an active shooter in the basement, according to medical center spokesman Mike Alvarez.
"An active shooter has just been reported in building #26 at Naval Medical Center San Diego," the center's Facebook post reads, according to CNN. "All occupants are advised to run, hide or fight. All non-emergency response personnel are asked to stay away from the compound."
There are no reports of injury and all non-emergency vehicles are advised to stay back from the Balboa area.
As of 9:00 a.m. (PST), the child care facilities within the center were secured, according to the center's Facebook. "All children are accounted for and safe. The entire complex is secured."
