Religious Conversion Therapy programs face extreme criticism by U.S. government
FREE Catholic Classes
U.S. government calls for an ending to conversion therapy for gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender youth. According to the official report, there is no evidence that supports the use of conversion therapy and the practice is potentially harmful.
Reports claim most of the practitioners are unlicensed, with religious training rather than medical training.
Regardless of whether the conversion therapies are determined effective by government terms, the Roman Catholic Church Catechism 2357 teaches, "Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that 'homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.' They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved."
