PHILADELPHIA, PA (Catholic Online) - While thanking everyone for making his visit special, he reminisced on all he did during the six days he spent in the United States.

Pope Francis' first stop was in Washington D.C., where spoke at the White House with President Obama and became the first president to address a joint session of Congress. Pope Francis canonized St. Junipero Serra, making him the first saint canonized on United States land.

The Holy Father addressed the United Nations General Assembly, while in New York City and stopped by to conduct a multi-religious prayer ceremony at the 9/11 memorial.

He became the guest of honor at the 2015 World Meeting of Families' Festival of Families.

While in the United States, Pope Francis also held many prayer services at spectacular cathedrals, led four different Masses, held exciting Papal parades, visited a school and visited a correctional facility.

Many people became blessed by the Holy Father, including a handful of babies and disabled persons.

In just six short days, Pope Francis has changed the way hundreds of people see life. He spoke out on important topics that our society is soaked in today including, immigration policies, the refugee crisis, climate change and sexual abuse in the Church.

But the time has come to say goodbye to our wonderful Pope, and a sad goodbye it will be. Pope Francis' visit to the United States is one that we shall never forget.

We wish him safe travels on his way back home to Rome.
