Museum to include numerous historical artifacts.

Washington D.C.'s Museum of the Bible will open soon after an agreement was reached with the Israel Antiquities Authority. The museum will host one of the greatest collections of bible artifacts discovered in Israel. The Blaze reported that the collection will be the biggest shipped abroad from the country, while it hasn't even been seen by Israelis, yet.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Artifacts, including those dated from the Canaanite period, as well as on eras of the First and Second Temples, are going to be sent to the Museum of the Bible, which is set to open by 2017, said National Treasures Department at the Israel Antiquities Authority head, Micky Saban.

The museum's website explained that the collection of its founder, Hobby Lobby President Steve Green and his family, will be part of its permanent display, about 40,000 pieces to be showcased. Sharona Schwatz wrote that it includes rare biblical scrolls and artifacts like the "cuneiform tablets from the time of Abraham, Dead Sea Scroll fragments, biblical papyri, Torah scrolls and rare printed Bibles."

By 2017, people who visit Museum of the Bible can look at the First Temple period seals and seal impressions in the massive collection, and some jewels and glassware from the time of the Second Temple.

However, these Israeli national treasure collections have never been seen by its people, due to the lack of area to put up a huge exhibition. In the museum, the artifacts will be displayed at a 5,300-square foot space, stated Director Israel Hasson of the Israel Antiquities Authority.

Museum of the Bible will use other technology, like holograms and virtual reality to engage their visitors in the stories behind the artifacts and the lives within the periods of time they represent. They are expecting about 4.5 million visitors annually.
