MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - An unnamed suspect wielding a gun, a hatchet and pepper spray started a commotion inside a Tennessee theater, Wednesday. One moviegoer suffered a minor cut on the shoulder from the hatchet. The unknown suspect tried to escape out the back door of the theater, but Nashville police managed to kill the suspect before he could escape.

Nashville Police chief Steve Anderson told police the suspect was likely a 28-year-old man. However, earlier reports claim the man was around 51-years old. Police are trying to identify the suspect through fingerprints acquired from the suspect.

Updated reports reveal the attacker to be Vincente David Montano, a 29-year-old schizophrenic man.

Steven, the injured man inside the theater claimed police did a "phenomenal job" in responding to the incident. He was one of the eight people inside the theater during the incident. He was also one of the three people inside the theater peppered sprayed by the assailant. Steven was with his daughter and his daughter was also sprayed.

"I am very, very grateful that no one else got injured here today -- other than the person who perpetrated this," Steven shared with reporters.

Luckily, no one had to be transported to the hospital after the incident. However, Steven, his daughter and another woman suffered irritations from the pepper spray used by the suspect. The suspect reportedly wore a surgical mask during the incident. The pepper spray also contained red dye, according to police reports.

The police managed to recover two bags the assailant brought inside the theater. One bag that contained a "hoax device" was destroyed.

Four or five officers were along the side of the building during the time of the shooting, as reported by Brad Ransom in an interview with CNN. A Sprint Store attendant nearby the crime scene claims the same man tried to enter her store through the back door prior to the incident.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives sent a team to Antioch to help with further investigations.
