We ask you, urgently: don't scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Through the survey around the city, news outlet WNYC discovered that the hottest subway station is the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall Station with 106 degrees on record.
The station is serving the 4/5/6 lines in NYC. The World Trade Center Station was at 101 degrees, while the Fulton Street 4/5 station exhibited 99 degrees during the testing period. Temperatures were determined at every station south of Central Park in Manhattan between 5pm and 7pm.
Specific routes were followed by four reporters from the news station and the room temperatures of the subway stations were collected using an air thermometer. Each reporter stood in the middle of the platform avoiding the air conditioning. At the 42nd Street Times Square shuttle station, 93.2 was recorded, ranking it up with the hottest areas, followed by the Houston Street 1 station at 90.2 degrees. 88.3 degrees was recorded at the Christopher Street station while 85.5 degrees was at the 14th Street station.
"It's always hot, it's always humid. My hair is definitely sticking to my neck," said a subway commuter, Charlotte Russo. The city reached 95 degrees that Wednesday, amid the humidity intensifying the heat felt. According to reports, the weather might still feel inconveniently hot, despite not reaching the 90 degree-level.
WNYC also found it was 71 degrees at 23rd Street N/R station and at the Rector Street R station, and 68 degrees at the 5th Avenue-59th Street N/Q/R - the cooler stations outlying data.
