The US Government finds a hole in their security on Southern borders

The United States is considering the possible breach in the security of its southern borders. With drugs, illegal immigrants and several illegal activities being localized in this area, the militant group, ISIS may actually target this region for their terrorist plans.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Illegal activities in the Southern border of the US are constantly being monitored, caught and hounded by authorities. With rising attempts in breaching the border's security, security analysts and FBI consultants see the region as an attractive area for ISIS to take part in the illegal activities with powerful drug lords and traders.

"Drug dealers have found a way to move money without it being followed. They found a way to move people in and out and they found a way to move product," former FBI agent, Tyrone Powers shared.

Illegal drugs, like meth, heroin and pot, have been illegally transferred through a labyrinth of tunnels from Mexico. As the government tries to confiscate and put a stop to these illegal activities, they are starting to see ISIS as another potential threat in the security of the southern borders.

The labyrinths that are being used to transfer illegal immigrants, drugs and firearms can become a birthplace for ISIS's brutality.

"The stronger they get over there, the more power they have so I can definitely see, in the future, collaboration between terrorist groups and drug dealers to our south," Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina, 2016 Presidential Candidate shared in a recent speech.

Illegal immigrants are transferred in these labyrinths, thus the possibility of suicide bombers travelling into these secret passages and reaching the US for destructive purpose is highly possible. Experts strongly believe the unstable leadership in Mexico, combined with drug lords and several illegal activities, can create a vacuum effect for ISIS.

"What's been going on in Mexico creates an opportunity for any organization to try to take advantage of it, whether it's ISIS or Al Shabbab," explained by Brandon Behlendorf, Terrorist Targeting Strategist.

The Sinalos Federations and the Los Zetas are two of the major drug cartels in the US that may attract ISIS. The drug cartels cover land in Mexico, the US border, borders in Texas to California and the southern part of Texas. Al Qaeda has already attempted to create negotiations with the drug cartels but have remained unsuccessful. ISIS might prove to have better luck.
