Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. Acting as a wake up call to all men, taking up more than their allotted space on the Metro and buses, also known as manspreading, has been made illegal and can be considered grounds for an arrest.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - This is exactly what happened to two men found guilty of spreading their legs too far apart in a New York subway train. This was not just about them taking up too much space, but also because they are showcasing their anti-social behavior.
Being inconsiderate and becoming an inconvenience to others has been taken to new and illegal level - that is according to the recent ruling of the judge who presided over the cases for these two men.
Although personal space is a concept that is almost always absent when taking any type of public transportation, manspreading is stretching this notion to its limits. While we are all for making everyone feel comfortable while taking the Metro or bus, anti-social behavior is and will never be illegal, unless you decide to throw a punch or swing a bat at people for you to get a seat.
If manspreading has been deemed illegal, playing your music too loud, even with headphones on and having your favorite salami sandwich or tapping your feet to the beat will probably be added to the list in the near future.
Authorities should let people know how manspreading causes inconvenience; but is it enough to get arrested? Well, maybe not. But the recent arrests will really catch people's attention and will definitely help "manspreaders" think twice about taking up too much space the next time they are on a train.
