MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Nancy Perry allegedly told students that President Obama is a Muslim and those who voted for him should not be considered Christian, according The Blaze. The issue surfaced after a 12-year-old student came home and then told his parents the teacher's controversial remarks regarding the president and those who voted for him.
"If your parents voted for Obama, they're evil and I don't see how your parents could vote for someone that's Muslim," was purportedly said by Perry according to Jimmie Scott, one of the parents complaining, in an interview with WMAZ-TV.
Scott explained that his child claimed Perry asked students to prove their Christianity, however according to an interview, she denied making the debatable remarks.
"'See, Obama is a baby killer. He aborts babies at nine months old as they're coming through the birth canal,'" added Scott claiming that Perry uttered the statement, showing her negative perspective regarding the president through citing and showing various website pages that supposedly affected her political and religious viewpoints.
The teacher's husband, Bill Perry, attended the meeting as one of the school board members.
"It is not the place of teachers to attempt to persuade students about religious or political beliefs. In doing so, the teacher was wrong and that has been communicated to her. Just as importantly, we are communicating this message to all staff of the school district," said Dublin City Schools Superintendent Chuck Ledbetter apologizing for the misconduct in Dublin Middle School. Perry's retirement plans and resignation was announced Monday.
