Help combat infectious disease, protect children and the poor.
The video was released on October 16 in the evening at Pham's request. Her physician gets very emotional as she sets off to the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda.
"Thanks for getting well. Thanks for being part of the volunteer team to take care of our first patient," Dr. Weinstein says.
"It means a lot. This has been a huge effort by all of you," Dr. Weinstein then starts to tear up. "We're really proud of you."
At that, Pham also starts to cry.
"I love you guys," she said.
"We love you, Nina," Dr. Weinstein replies.
The nurse landed in Bethesda around 10:40 p.m. Eastern Time, and was admitted into the NIH hospital just after midnight.
The next day, Pham had Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital release a statement on her behalf, which thanked family, friends and co-workers for the immense support.
"I feel very blessed, and have gained strength from their support. I appreciate everything that my coworkers [sic] have done to care for me at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas," the satement said.
"I'm doing really well thanks to this team, which is the best in the world. I believe in my talented coworkers. I am #presbyproud!"
Meanwhile, Dallas had released photos of the nurse's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, named Bentley, who is currently in quarantine at the Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center.
