PHILADELPHIA, PA (Catholic Online) - Over the past 12 years, 34 lawsuits have been filed against the squad and its members alleging illegal searches and deadly high-speed chases.

Other cases allege that officers fabricated and planted evidence, stole money, and committed various acts of brutality.

Internal Affairs complaints also mounted against the squad.

However, most other suits against the squad have been dismissed. Two civil suits remain open.

The officers themselves deny any wrongdoing.

One lawyer involved in the case, Michael Schwartz said, "Where there is smoke, there is fire."
