LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Beck plans to send uniformed officers to make the rounds of public school campuses on a daily basis, saying that "a barrier has been broken," in reference to the shooting of young children.

A major public outcry following the Friday shooting of kids at an elementary school in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, has both citizens and politicians, as well as law enforcement scrambling for solutions. In the long term, discussions about gun control, versus rights and how the nation treats the mentally ill, will be had.

In the meantime, local law enforcement is reacting immediately to step up security across the nation. It is hoped that a visible, increased police presence will deter others who may be contemplating similar violence from carrying out such deeds.
