We ask you, urgently: don't scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

P>ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - In a case that riveted America - and even reached beyond its shores to captivate much of the West - for 33 days, Casey Anthony was found "Not Guilty" by a jury of her peers in the intentional homicide of her 2 year old daughter Caylee.

It seemed no matter which news station one selected over the last month, wall to wall coverage of this gruesome trial was being covered. Tabloid media shows were filled with sordid reports of the proceedings. An entire class of legal pundits seemed to come out of the woodwork to speculate and predict the outcome.

After deliberating for 11 hours, the 12 member jury found that the State had not proven its capital murder case. Nor did they convict Casey Anthony of the lesser included offense of manslaughter. In fact, they did not even find enough evidence to convict her of child abuse.

Casey Anthony was found guilty of 4 counts of providing false information to law enforcement officers

She will be sentenced on those four counts by Judge Belvin Perry on Thursday morning. Each count carries a possible sentence of one year.

It is now within the discretion of the Judge to determine whether the sentences run consecutively and whether Ms Anthony will be given credit for her time served during the pendency of this matter.
