President Bill Clinton was on 'frenetic pace' before stent procedure

NEW YORK, NY (Catholic Online) - Having just recently returned from Haiti on February 5th where he has been focused on recovery efforts, former President Bill Clinton told a friend he was worn out.
Some reports indicate he also had a cold.
He called his heart doctor at Columbia Presbyterian two days ago and was scheduled for a Wednesday appointment which he postponed until today, Thursday, February 12, 2010.
Some reports indicate he reported to a friend that he was simply not feeling well and attributed it to fatigue. Others, that he was experiencing chest pains.
When he arrived at the hospital for an appointment, he was admitted.
That experience of not feeling well signaled something more for this former President. he had undergone quadruple bypass surgery in 2004.
Now, he also has had two stents in one of his coronary arteries. The procedure is a remedial surgery to open the blood flow to his heart. The procedure was successful.
President Clinton is reportedly in good spirits. His wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is on route to his hospital room. His daughter Chelsea is already by his side.
