WASHINGTON, D.C. (Catholic Online) - By now most Catholics know that Obama's election was a horrible setback in our mission to end the legalized killing of the unborn in America; more babies' lives are at stake.
But we should also remember that Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother want this slaughter to end far more than we do. In that light, our continued duty is to be God's hands, feet, and voice in this life and death struggle; to be faithful in our prayers and actions.
Obama's election is a setback, but it does not mean we surrender, nor does it mean ultimate defeat. By God's grace, the cause of the children will inevitably prevail. The only question is when, and through whom.
Until that victorious hour, we must continue to pray and struggle and sacrifice.
Hence, we are launching a small - but we pray effective - sortie against the culture of death: Our First 100 Rosaries.
The first 100 days of a new administration are critical. The President tries to establish his agenda, and create momentum for his goals. As it stands now, Obama's first 100 days stand to be to be highlighted and littered by evil.
We have a duty to pray that God will intervene for Justice, and for the lives of the innocent during the coming dark night of America's soul.
We are specifically invoking Our Lady of Guadalupe, because of her role in ending human sacrifice, with these intentions:
1) That God would give President Obama the grace of conversion concerning the inalienable right to life of unborn babies; specifically, that he will see, embrace, and defend the unborn child's God given right to life, and will use the office of President to restore the full protection of law to the unborn from conception till birth;
2) That God would thwart the evil acts promised by Obama during the election concerning the unborn. (I.e., signing the Freedom of Choice Act, undoing certain past pro-life executive orders);
3) That God would grant great courage to our Priests, Bishops, and all Christian leaders to publicly resist Obama's stated agenda, and defend the right to life of the unborn;
4) That God would inspire (where needed) righteous men and women to run for political office in 2010 against pro-abortion politicians from both parties; bold candidates who will defend and protect the right to life of children in legislation;
5) That God would call thousands of new, prayerful, and peaceful (yet bold!) "warriors" into this life and death struggle.
WE ARE ASKING YOU TO SACRIFICE.
This is a large undertaking, as you can imagine. But millions of babies are at risk; millions of lives hang in the balance. Can we not bare an extra burden, and offer reparation for this horrible crime against babies - and against God Himself?
In the dark light of this holocaust, praying the Rosary for 100 days can hardly be considered a sacrifice.
Schedule - 7 Days a Week, for 100 Days, at the White House
We will gather over the lunch break at 12:30 P.M. every day, seven days a week, rain or shine, to pray the Rosary across the Street from the White House in Lafayette Park.
If you cannot pray at the White House, please join us in your home, work, your church, or during your Holy Hour. Hundreds of Catholics around the country are already committed to pray with us. We would hope for thousands.
EXCEPTIONS: On Inauguration Day, we will gather at the Northeast Quadrant of Lafayette Park (the Corner of Vermont and H) at 9:00 A.M. to pray, sing, and speak the Truth. We will listen to the swearing in, then President Obama's address, and when it is over, we will pray the first Rosary of his Presidency.
On January 22, the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, we will begin at 11:00 A.M., and be finished by 11:30, so that we can participate in the March for Life at noon.
Other than these exceptions, we will pray the Rosary for 100 days, across the street from the White House in Lafayette Park.
Will You Join Us in DC, or in your community?
We are offering these 100 days of prayer and invocations to Our Lady of Guadalupe as a tool in the Hand of God in this clash between good and evil, between life and death. We do not know what power lies in these 100 First Rosaries, but we are confident that Our Lady will hear us, and defend Life in some way.
If you will join us, in DC, or in your area, please let us know. We will keep you posted on developments over the 100 days.
This is a LONG stretch. It will take us through Lent, and past Easter. We will finish on April 29, the Feast Day of St. Catherine of Siena.
We are looking for commitments; please tell us when you can join us. If you are interested in leading one or more of these Rosaries in D.C., let us know. We need helpers in this Holy Cause.
We hope you will join in these First 100 Rosaries no matter where you are.
