We ask you, urgently: don't scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

WICHITA, KS (Adorers of the Blood of Christ) - All Saints Day is an ancient feast that was instituted to remember all the saints - known and unknown. In my community, we especially remember our foundress, Saint Maria DeMattias.

The communion of saints we celebrate as Catholics is unceasing. We believe in an eternal link of charity binding the faithful in heaven to the pilgrims on
Earth. And this year, I'm holding my parents' hands in this broad circle.

It was just five years ago when I sat with Mom as she took her last breath. It was heart wrenching.Sitting with Dad, caring for him in his final weeks last winter was even more difficult, as you can imagine. The physical loss of both parents leaves one feeling empty and longing to reconnect in new ways.

All Saints Day provides us this opportunity.

I especially like the view of the English mystic Julian of Norwic, who describes saints as "good neighbors." Saints are loyal friends who rush to our aid during times of need. Who hasn't prayed to Saint Anthony or Saint Jude?

My parents inspired me to work hard, to love deeply and to serve God wholeheartedly throughout my life.Isn't that the challenge from all the saints - to learn from their example, honor their lives and incorporate their values?

We're facing plenty of challenges here on earth: We can be grateful for our good neighbors in heaven! May we open ourselves to the prayers and inspirations of St. Maria and all the saints!
