Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The video, shown on Heavy, revealed militants in Deir ez-Zor, Syria after the group captured and defaced a Christian cemetery in "Wilayat Al Khayr."

The video was originally released across ISIS channels on Monday.

A militant with crutches begins to speak beside the remains of a beautiful Christian headstone. Several wooden coffins stood above ground and two in the distance appear to have been completely destroyed, with the corpses strewn carelessly to the side.

The dry scene and the sound of wind give the impression of heat amid the destruction and several angles of the desecrated cemetery are revealed.

The crutched militant says something in Arabic and moves away from the camera, which follows him to reveal further evidence of the cemetery's destruction.

Close-ups of bodies were revealed, presumably victims of the attack.

Body parts, machine fire, rotting corpses and garbage littered the ground of what appears to be several destroyed buildings and suddenly the camera cuts out.

The brief video was one of many meant to enrage, instill fear and mock all who dare stand against the Islamic State.
