LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The pictures revealed three hooded militants with a blindfolded captive wearing an orange jumpsuit in the middle of the small group.
As a large crowd watches from the sidelines, armed militants make their rounds, ensuring none of the public interfere with the upcoming execution.
The captive, who was identified as Abdulhadi Essa al-Salem by news agency ABNA, was held tightly by a militant, who simultaneously shoved a blade through al-Salem's rib cage and into his heart.
After stabbing his victim, the militant stood and pulled out a gun, which he then used to shoot al-Salem in the head.
Essa al-Salem had been accused of cooperating with the US-led coalition and was killed for his "crimes against the caliphate."
The execution was reported by activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS), which has been keeping tabs on terrorist activities within Syria.
Though ISIS has shocked the world on several occasions before with their use of child executioners and graphic beheadings, nothing as intimate as an embrace and knife to the heart has portrayed the level of the group's insanity.
What more can ISIS do to instill fear in their captives? How much longer must the innocent be put to death? The war against ISIS wages on as more and more captives are brutally murdered - what will ISIS concoct next?
