American soldier killed in raid to free 70 ISIS prisoners
FREE Catholic Classes
At least 70 Kurdish ISIS prisoners were freed from an Islamic State prison compound in northern Iraq after American and Kurdish commandos raided the area. The raid left one American fighter dead, making this the first U.S. military member combat casualty in Iraq since the U.S. began attacks on ISIS last year.
It was also reported that at least a dozen ISIS militants were killed during the raid, and although no official report confirms, some militants may have been captured.
