The boy, Ahmed Manasra, was actually in an Israeli hospital after stabbing two Israelis

In the midst of Israeli-Palestinian violence, that has led to the deaths of hundreds on both sides, one 13-year-old boy took center stage when Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas claimed the boy had been "summarily executed."

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Palestenian President Mahmoud Abbas claimed the boy, Ahmed Manasra, had been "summarily executed," after it was discovered the boy stabbed two Israelis -including a boy his age.

Palestinians were enraged by a video featuring Manasra bleeding out onto Jerusalem's light rail, with his legs twisted at odd angles after he was hit by a car. The video was taken after he stabbed two Israelis and bystanders cursed him, shouting "die!" in Hebres and saying he was the son of a whore.

The video was posted on YouTube titled "Ahmed Manasra -Israeli brutality exposed."

Manasra was shown to be in obvious pain in the video, which made its rounds through a variety of social media platforms. Israeli officers can be seen ushering bystanders and the cameraman away from the boy, but they did nothing to help him. People continued to shout in Jewish and Arabic, with one person saying, "Just shoot this son of a bitch in the head."

The video does not mention Manasra's attacks on the two Israeli victims.

In response to the video, Israel released security footage on Wednesday, showing Manasra and his cousin wielding knives and chasing a man through Jerusalem. The image switches to a shot of an Israeli boy standing in a candy store getting on his bike, then falling from it after he was stabbed.

Israeli citizens have claimed Abbas encourages violence by his incendiary comments, and Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said, "Now we have a new big lie. That new big lie is that Israel is executing Palestinians."

Netanyahu's comment came following the truth about Manasra. At the time Abbas claimed he had been executed, he was actually in an Israeli hospital recovering from wounds. The Israeli Prime Minister added that he was "perfectly open" to meeting Abbas to talk about the "wave of incitement."

Abbas argued that attacks on Israel goes against Palestinian interests and has repeatedly denied the Israeli allegations that he was instigating unrest.

In a speech on Wednesday, Abbas said Israel's engagement of excessive force has led to the "summary execution of our children in cold blood."

Over the past thirty days, eight Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks, with most of them the results of stabbings. During the same time period, thirty-one Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, with the inclusion of 14 labeled by Israel as "attackers" while the remaining 17 were felled by stone-throwers and Israeli troops.

Both countries have turned to social media to promote their versions of events and often release videos, within minutes of each other, of the attacks.

Israel increased security across the country and on Thursday announced the deployment of 300 soldiers to Jerusalem to help maintain order and guard main streets and public transportation.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Emanuel Nahshon believes Israel persuaded YouTube and Facebook to remove Palestinian videos. Meanwhile, Palestinian authorities continue to release amateur videos depicting Israeli police using excessive force.
