Russia reportedly dropped at least ten thousand leaflets with distinct messages aimed at civilians and rebel troops, including ISIS members.
Through a Kremlin-friendly website, the leaflet details were posted, including warnings for people to leave the area before more extensive operations occur. The Russian military also urged the rebels to give up their arms and to keep from making their situation worse for themselves.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Following heavy airstrikes launched by Russian warplanes on Rastan and Talbiseh cities against ISIS and rebel forces last week, army helicopters dropped thousands of leaflets, warning civilians and rebel groups alike.
Daily Mail reported the pamphlets were dropped by old Mi-8 helicopters guided by a "tablet with Google Maps."
The leaflets for civilians were designed to look like "religious literature" and warned them to leave the area "for the sake of your own life." They also included safe Syrian checkpoints civilians could travel through and that the government would offer "shelter, food and medical aid."For the ISIS jihadists and other rebel fighters, the second leaflet issued a warning of a different nature: "Don't make it even worse for yourselves. The Motherland [presumably Syria] is ready to hug you back again. Give up your arms as hundreds of other young guys like you have done."
Syria is presumed to be utilizing the Russian special force Spetsnaz. An unnamed military source claimes Spetsnaz was sent to wipe out Assad's opponents and they harbor a deep hatred for jihadists.
One of the leaflets, obtained by the website Komsomolskaya Pravda, features a cartoon depicting an al-Nusra front figurine being wound by Israel and the U.S. The design was meant to divide extremist factions and read "Al-Nusra terrorists, they are American and Israeli rebels."
Russia has not paused in its attempt to change the tide of ISIS and rebel-related victories across Syria. Russian warplanes have been leaving the tightly-secured Latakia airbase every 10 minutes, 24-hours-a-day for the past six days, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported. The night is "just as active as the day."
The National Coalition, one of Syria's main rebel groups, claimed Russian airstrikes killed 36 civilians on the first day of attacks and since then, the United States, Turkey, the UK and Gulf Nations accused Russia of killing innocents and "moderate rebels" who oppose ISIS.
In response to the allegations, Russia agreed for photographers to visit the Latakia base. Unfortunately, Russia has been creating a bad reputation for itself and White House spokesman Josh Earnest reported Russia's actions as provocation.
"Given the stakes and sensitivity around the Russian military action in that region of the world, I think our concerns are well-founded."
