LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Ten Kurdish fighters were filmed kneeling in orange jumpsuits, reciting Koranic prayers and awaiting their deaths.

The disgusting video of the executions was released following an incident where Kurdish fighters succeeded in driving the Islamic State out of a region in northern Iraq, clearing part of a highway on Wednesday.

So far, only Kurdish fighters have been successful in defeating the Islamic State.

The video was shot near Mosul with an executioner standing behind each victim, knife in hand.
Each man was beheaded and their heads were placed on their bodies as an ISIS terrorist warned that other Kurdish fighters in ISIS captivity will meet the same "inevitable fate."

Though the video has yet to be authenticated, it has been distributed on a variety of websites with links to ISIS.

The Kurdistan Security Council said Islamic State is attempting to acquire oil resources in its latest bid to expand but the Kurdish peshmerga fighters, with help from U.S. airstrikes, pushed Islamic State militants out of Ghara Heights and Mount Batiwa, which is located south of Kirkuk.

Peshmerga was also successful in removing ISIL militants from a highway connecting Kirkuk to Samarra, leaving Meziriya, Gubebe, Mohammed Khalil, Qows Kurd, Tal Ward, Khalef and Mansouria villages, all of which are south of Kirkuk, cleared of militants.

Unfortunately, ten peshmerga fighters were killed and 16 were wounded during the fight, an anonymous senior security official reported.

In a statement released by the U.S.-led coalition on Wednesday reported three airstrikes near Kirkuk on Tuesday which destroyed a tactical unit, 10 rocket rails, a weapons cache, five militant vehicles and a car bomb. Eight airstrikes were conducted near Hawijah at the same time.
