MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Jaysh Al-Islam, or the "Army of Islam," as they call themselves, commands around 25,000 loyal soldiers succeeding the union of around 60 rebel groups within Syria. The captured ISIS militants were forced to kneel as the commander pronounces, "Allah did not make a disease without appointing a remedy to it."
The captured jihadis were dressed in black and forced to drink something prior to a close up of each of their faces in the 19 minute-long propaganda video. The prisoners were shot in the back of their heads with shotguns.
Before the execution, a Jaysh Al-Islam militant announced, "The most serious calamity for our jihad today is a group of people who grow at a time of division among Muslims."
"They worsened... the ordeal of Muslims by corrupting their religion and livelihood and killing the jihadi leaders who did their best to help our stricken nation.
"They wreaked havoc on our people in liberated areas and cut the supply route of jihadis. They left... Tehran intact and instead they attacked our mosques.
"This is the penalty for what they have committed. We also call on their fellows to repent."
The rebel group operates in the war-torn city of Damascus in Syria. Its continuous battle with President Bashar Al-Assad is allegedly financed by the affluent nation of Saudi Arabia.
Known as the "Army of Islam", the rebel group was formed about 4 years ago when Saudi Arabia apparently plotted the union of over 50 rebel groups, after growing alarmed at the rise of the Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Syria.
Sheikh Zahran Aloush is the leader of Jaysh Al-Islam.
