According to reports, members of the tribes Al-Karableh, Albu Ubaid, Albu Mahal and Albu Salman, which ISIS is speculated to be collaborating with the Iraqi security forces, were savagely killed.
The terrorist group has been successfully pushed out from the certain areas after the operations of the Iraqi Army soldiers and the Shiite militias. Saddam Hussein's birthplace, Tikrit, was released from ISIS just last week. The city was said to be an important strategic location to the military plans of eventually freeing the entire country from the terrorism.

During a news conference with his South Korean counterpart, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said the U.S. had made progress in Iraq against ISIS but do not claim that the said developments are the start of the end of the terrorist group.
Sec. Carter explained he still does not know how long the fight in Iraq will last, according to the Daily Mail.
The U.S. launched airstrikes in early August last year against ISIS, an attempt to help the Iraqi Military. The terrorist group began their assaults in the country since the U.S. Forces withdrew in 2011, and reported targeting minority religious groups like Christianity in Iraq.
