Syrian grandma calls Islamic State cursed 'devils'
FREE Catholic Classes
While the Islamic State may have the run of much of Iraq and Syria, courage is not dead in that part of the world. While this bravery usually takes the form of moderate Syrians, Iraqi Shia militia or Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, a new video circulating around the web shows that one doesn't need a gun to stand up for justice.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A video is circling that shows an elderly woman confronting two Islamic State militants and berating and insulting them.
Are you "Doing Good" for Lent?
"I swear nothing you have done was in the way of God," she said, and went on to call the men "devils."
The shocking video is believed to have been filmed in Syria, and shows how confused the two terrorists are at being insulted by the little old lady. She told the two that neither the Islamic State nor Bashar al-Assad's regime would emerge victorious in Syria, and that the Islamic State is cursed.
The woman attacks them for slaughtering people "like donkeys" and begins to list versus from the Koran that condemns their behavior: "You don't want this slaughtering, nor do you want this murder," she tells the two.
"We have come to you with slaughter," they reply.
February is a month for love and devotion.
Furiously, the old women continues on: "Do not slaughter anyone and nobody will slaughter you. It's forbidden. I swear nothing you have done was in the way of God!
"God is watching what you are doing. 'Those who deny our versus and are arrogant towards them, the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter paradise,'" she continued.
Despite the epic confrontation, nothing further was filmed, and it is currently unclear what happened to the woman.
