LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - For the first time since 1998, the United Nations reviewed Iraq's records, including recent report that reveals a "host of horrifying outcomes for the children kidnapped by the Islamic militants.
The U.N. denounces "the systematic killing of children belonging to religious and ethnic minorities by the so-called ISIL (ISIS)."

Often from the Yazidi sect or Christian communities, but also Shi'ites and Sunnis, the children are being tortured and murdered.
According to the Daily Mail, female children are sold as sex slaves, children with learning disabilities are used as suicide bombers and others are just plain murdered.
All of the experts who worked on the recent report are calling upon Iraqi authorities to do every thing they can to "rescue children" under the horrific control of ISIS.
"Children of minorities have been captured in many places...sold in the market place with tags, price tags on them, they have been sold as slaves," Winter continued.
Controlling much of Syria and Iraq, ISIS systematically commits these crimes.

"There was a video placed (online) that showed children at a very young age, approximately eight years of age and younger, to be trained already to become child soldiers," Winter said. "We have had reports of children, especially children who are mentally challenged, who have been used as suicide bombers, most probably without them even understanding.
"We are really deeply concerned at torture and murder of those children, especially those belonging to minorities, but not only from minorities," committee expert, Renate Winter stated to Daily Mail. "The scope of the problem is huge. There is a duty of a state to protect all its children. The point is just how are they going to do that in such a situation."
