LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Netanyahu has already been quite vocal in raising his concerns about the current talks between President Obama's administration and Iran about nuclear energy and development.
Act now, please help save fellow Christians from genocide!
The issue of dealing with Iran has been quite divisive between the U.S. and Israel under Obama's term, but it has even come between the President and top Democrats in the Senate, who have accused the President of using talking points in order to deal with Tehran.
There is bipartisan support from both sides of the aisle in Congress to impose tougher sanctions on Iran, but these sanctions would not come into play unless Iran fails to bow to international pressure before June 30.
Obama's plan demands that Congress do nothing while Iranian leadership flaunts the threat of nuclear weaponry in the face of the international community, arguing that a vote would derail the currently ineffective talks.
If a bill passes Obama has threatened to veto it. In a frank press conference earlier in January he warned Democrats and Republicans to "hold their fire."
While the President may believe the soothing words which have worked in the past will work now, already his support structure is collapsing. Senior Democrats have been willing to vocally express their disgust.
"The more I hear from the administration and its quotes, the more it sounds like talking points that come straight out of Tehran," said New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez.
Speaker of the House John Boehner told reporters that he did not discuss Netanyahu's upcoming meeting with the White House.
2015 can be the year you get your spirit healthy!
"Congress can make this decision on its own," he said. "There is a serious threat that exists in the world and the president last night kind of papered over it."
Boehner added that "there needs to be a more serious conversation in America about how serious the threat is-from radical Islamic jihadists and from the threat posed by Iran."
