Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The pamphlet was distributed in Mosul on Friday, after evening prayers. Islamic State fighters handed out the pamphlets, titled "Question and Answers on Female Slaves and their Freedom."
Act now, please help save fellow Christians from genocide!
The document was published in October or November, and posted on the Islamic State's website prior to it being handed out in Mosul.
"People started gathering in small groups chattering about (the document)," a resident of Mosul told CNN. "Most are shocked, but (we) cannot do much about it." The resident wished to remain anonymous for obvious security reasons.
The Islamic State has already set a precedent for the barbaric action of sex-slavery. In Syria and Iraq there have already been accounts of this condoned practice, and the pamphlet just makes officials the activities that have been going on for most of the Islamic State's reign.
This is not the first time the Islamic State has released materials that attempt to justify their actions. The beheadings of western aid workers and journalists, the mass executions and accounts of torture have all been accepted and encouraged by the Islamic State leadership.
The document declares that women may be captured if they are not Muslim.
"Female slaves are the women that Muslims took from their enemies," the pamphlet said. "If she was a virgin, he (the owner) can have intercourse with her immediately after the ownership is fulfilled.
"If she was not a virgin, her uterus must be purified,"the owner must wait for her to have a period to ensure that she is not pregnant.
Most horrific of all is the Islamic State's stance on prepubescent girls: "It is permissible to have intercourse with the female slave who hasn't reached puberty if she is fit for intercourse. However, if she is not fit for intercourse, (the owner) can only enjoy her without intercourse."
