The Islamic State has released another video, perhaps attempting to persuade Americans and British forces from attacking them. This time, instead of beheading a journalist they have created what appears to be their own version of a crude news segment.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Islamic State has released its own attempt at editorial, prime-time commentary, using a captured journalist to do the talking. A video which shows British journalist, John Cantile, 43, seated behind a plain desk, dressed in a bright orange shirt, speaking calmly into the camera like a seasoned journalist. Cantile previously wrote for The Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times, and The Sun.
In the video, Cantile announced the coming of a short series of segments where he would tell the Islamic State's side of the story for the benefit of the American and British peoples. The idea is clearly to stir public sentiment against a robust military campaign against the Islamic State.
Don't let fellow Christians fall victim to terrorists.
Cantile hints that Americans and British, allies in the war against the Islamic State, are manipulating the news to demonize the new (and wholly unrecognized) nation. He explained that we are not getting the full picture and that there is more information to come.
Unlike previous videos, Cantile is not speaking on pain of imminent death, although he did acknowledge that he was a prisoner. He was almost certainly reading from a script and implied that he had a gun to his head -or at least that he was being forced to read the statement. Cantile also condemned the British and American governments for refusing to negotiate the release of hostages unlike other governments.
The video, which runs under three minutes is titled, "Lend Me Your Ears."
