La Guardia Suiza celebra su aniversario e introduce un cambio en su uniforme

Como es tradicion, la Guardia Suiza celebrara este martes 22 de enero a las 18,00, hora de Roma, el aniversario de su fundacion, en 1506, hace 513 anos. Como novedad, este ano los Guardias Suizos estrenaran durante las celebraciones los nuevos cascos elaborados en materia sintetica y producidos en Suiza mediante tecnologia de impresion 3D.

VATICANO (ACI Prensa) - Ademas, con motivo de este aniversario, la Guardia Suiza ha publicado en su canal de Youtube el primer capitulo de la serie de videos "1506. La Guardia Suiza Pontificia se presenta". Este primer capitulo de la serie lleva por titulo "Servicio de honor".

Se trata de un video producido por Vatican Media y la Oficina de Comunicacion de la Santa Sede en el que se muestran y explican costumbres, tradiciones y escenas cotidianas de la vida de los Guardias Suizos.

El acto central de este aniversario es la Misa celebrada en la Iglesia de Santa Maria de la Piedad, en el Campo Santo Teutonico del Vaticano. A la liturgia estan invitados como invitados de honor los religiosos de la orden "Fatebenefratelli", que ofrecen su servicio en la Farmacia Vaticana y en la Direccion de Servicios de Sanidad e Higiene.

Al finalizar la Misa, un peloton de Guardias Suizos cruzara la Plaza de San Pedro para conmemorar la llegada al Vaticano de los mercenarios suizos el 22 de enero de 1506, ano en que se fundo el Cuerpo durante el pontificado de Julio II.
