El Papa Francisco visito en forma privada el Monasterio de Clausura de las Clarisas en Vallegloria en la poblacion italiana de Spello este 11 de enero.

VATICANO (ACI Prensa) - Segun informo el Director interino de la Oficina de Prensa de la Santa Sede, Alessandro Gisotti, el PontĂ­fice realizo esta visita "para animar las monjas de clausura, la vida contemplativa y compartir con ellas la EucaristĂ­a, la oracion y el pan".

El 25 de agosto de 2016 estas religiosas habĂ­an visitado al Papa Francisco en la Casa Santa Marta junto al Obispo de Foligno, Mons. Gualtiero Sigismondi, con quienes rezaron por las vĂ­ctimas del terremoto en Italia.

En esa ocasion, el Santo Padre les regalo la Constitucion Apostolica "Vultum Dei quaerere" en representacion de todos los monasterios de clausura del mundo. La visita sorpresa del Papa este 11 de enero fue, en cierto sentido, un modo para devolverles aquella visita.

Mons. Sigismondi relato al diario del Episcopado italiano "Avvenire" que el Papa le habĂ­a manifestado en varias ocasiones la idea de esta visita y que el pasado 24 de diciembre supo el programa, pero aseguro que no lo dijo a nadie.

De este modo, el Papa se traslado a esta comunidad contemplativa, que es una de las más antiguas experiencias de Santa Clara. Llego poco antes de las 9: a.m. para celebrar la Misa junto a uno de sus secretarios, Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, y con Mons. Sigismondi.

Despues de la Misa, el Santo Padre compartio un tiempo de diálogo informal con las religiosas y despues almorzaron juntos y despues regresaron hacia el Vaticano.
