El Secretario General y portavoz de la Conferencia Episcopal Espanola (CEE), Mons. Luis Arguello, aseguro en una entrevista en el Canal 24 horas de RTVE, que la cripta que pertenece a la familia de Francisco Franco en la Catedral de la Almudena en Madrid no es "el lugar mas adecuado" para que se entierren sus restos.

MADRID (ACI Prensa) - Segun afirmo el Prelado, la gestion para la exhumacion de los restos del dictador "se ha llevado a cabo de manera imprudente".

En ese sentido, Mons. Arguello tambien preciso que la familia de Francisco Franco "tiene derecho" a decidir sobre el destino de los restos, pero apunto que estos "tienen una significacion que va mas alla de lo familiar".

"Es un asunto complejo porque todas las partes [la familia y el gobierno] tienen derechos, pero no a decidir del todo" en relacion a la exhumacion e inhumacion de los restos del dictador, por eso ambas partes "tienen que aceptar que las cosas puedan ser de otra manera", aseguro durante la entrevista en el Canal 24 horas de la television pĂşblica espanola.

La Catedral de la Almudena se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad de Madrid, mientras que el Valle de los CaĂ­dos esta situado en el valle de Cuelgamuros, en la Sierra de Guadarrama, a 55 kilometros de la capital.

El Valle de los CaĂ­dos se construyo entre 1940 y 1958 como mausoleo de quienes lucharon en la Guerra Civil espanola.

Es un complejo arquitectonico en donde se encuentra una abadĂ­a benedictina, que cuenta con una cruz -la mas alta del mundo-, una escalinata, explanada y una basĂ­lica.

Franco fue enterrado allĂ­ tras su muerte en 1975, asĂ­ como Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, creador de la Falange, el partido polĂ­tico con el que el dictador sustento su regimen. Junto a ellos tambien reposan los cuerpos de casi 34 mil combatientes de la Guerra Civil de ambos bandos.

Se trata de un monumento controvertido, porque para sus detractores es un recuerdo del regimen franquista y la exaltacion de la memoria de Franco.

Postura del Vaticano

El pasado 5 de enero, el Director interino de la Oficina de Prensa del Vaticano, Alessandro Gisotti, reitero la postura oficial de la Santa Sede sobre la exhumacion de los restos del dictador espanol Francisco Franco y aseguro que "el asunto concierne a su familia, al Gobierno espanol y a la Iglesia local".

Desde que asumio a mediados de 2018 como presidente de Gobierno de Espana, Pedro Sanchez Perez-Castejon, del Partido Socialista Obrero Espanol (PSOE), ha ofrecido exhumar los restos de Franco del Valle de los CaĂ­dos.

En agosto de 2018, la Archidiocesis de Madrid senalo que "un eventual traslado de los restos mortales de D. Francisco Franco Bahamonde se deberĂ­a hacer con el mayor consenso posible, particularmente entre el Gobierno y la familia del difunto".
