"La vocacion fue un regalo", afirmo la hermana Corina Ciappina, de la Congregacion Hermanas de Nuestra Senora de la Merced del Divino Maestro, al cumplir 100 anos de vida.

BUENOS AIRES (ACI Prensa) - Con una Misa celebrada el 5 de diciembre en la casa madre de la congregacion, fundada en 1889 en Buenos Aires (Argentina), la religiosa celebro su cumpleanos junto a sus familiares y amigos a quienes confeso estar "cada vez mas contenta".

Nacio en Sicilia (Italia) en 1918. Fue la segunda de cuatro hermanos, su nombre de bautismo era Santina y su familia se mudo a Argentina cuando ella habia terminado el segundo grado de primaria. Su papa trabajo en una cerveceria y en los ferrocarriles en la ciudad de Cordoba.

En su juventud, Santina tenia deseos de ser religiosa e ingreso a Instituto Hijas de Maria Santisima del Huerto. Sin embargo su salud comenzo a quebrantarse y la superiora estimo que por su condicion esa vida no era para ella.

En esa epoca, por el ano 1933, se abrio en Cordoba el colegio Nuestra Senora de la Merced y el Divino Maestro, perteneciente a la congregacion que lleva el mismo nombre y tiene como mision la educacion y formacion cristiana de la juventud y de la ninez.

"Con mi familia ibamos a Misa alli y me impresiono la piedad tan grande de las hermanas. Rezaban con mucho fervor. Al ver a las hermanas con un fervor tan grande dije: aca tengo que venir yo", comento la hermana Corina a sus familiares y amigos.

Corina ingreso a la congregacion a los 16 anos. "Confio en la gran misericordia de Dios. Gracias a Jesusito querido, que me ha concedido una vida larga", expreso la religiosa, al mismo tiempo que pidio perdon a Dios por los pecados que haya cometido "en mi vida religiosa y civil".

La hermana Corina normalmente salia a la calle, sin embargo una caida accidental que tuvo a los 99 anos le provoco una fractura en la cadera que hoy la tiene en silla de ruedas. Pese a ello, la anciana conversa con alegria y buen humor.

Durante su vida religiosa, la hermana Corina ejercio como docente y fue directora del antiguo colegio de la Inmaculada en el Obispado de Quilmes. Su congregacion esta presente en Argentina, Uruguay y en Espana.
