El Secretario de Estado Vaticano, Cardenal Pietro Parolin, celebro la Misa de Navidad en la Catedral Latina de Bagdad (Irak), donde senalo que los cristianos iraquĂ­es tienen la mision de ser artĂ­fices de reconciliacion y de paz, y donde afirmo que la presencia de Dios en un pequeno nino nacido en Belen "es un signo que desafĂ­a nuestra logica humana".

ROMA (ACI Prensa) - "El signo real y tangible de este anuncio (de Navidad) es el nino envuelto en panales, acostado en un pesebre. Es un signo que desafía nuestra logica humana, nuestros criterios. La grandeza de Dios y su potencia se revelan en la pequenez y en la aparente debilidad de un nino. ¡Que gran leccion! De el recibimos todo", expreso.

En su homilía, la autoridad vaticana invito a dejarse "transformar por la presencia de este nino. El nacimiento del Hijo de Dios cambia todo, hace nueva nuestra vida. El Salvador del mundo viene a asumir nuestra naturaleza humana: no estamos más solos y abandonados. Dios está con nosotros".

"En este nino contemplamos la misericordia de Dios y su amor infinito por nosotros. Ante la sordera y el rechazo de muchos, queremos acoger esta buena noticia, queremos acoger a Jesus en nuestros corazones. A todos los que lo recibieron, les dio poder para convertirse en hijos de Dios ", afirmo.

En ese sentido, el Cardenal Parolin invito a dejarse tocar "por la ternura de Dios que nos salva" y agradecer "la belleza de ser amados por Dios".

En su homilía, el Purpurado recordo los recientes anos de persecucion que afrontaron los cristianos iraquíes ante la irrupcion del grupo terrorista Estado Islámico. "El misterio de la Navidad los estimula a ofrecer generosamente su contribucion a este país que aman, a esta sociedad a la que pertenecen como miembros plenos y al mundo entero", senalo.

La autoridad vaticana indico que la presencia de los cristianos en Medio Oriente "sigue siendo la presencia de Jesus". Ustedes, afirmo, tienen la mision insustituible de ser "constructores de reconciliacion y paz, testigos de amor y perdon, de comunion y fraternidad, de vida de servicio y de caridad como fuente de bien y de bendicion para todos".

"Les insto a continuar viviendo su pertenencia a la Iglesia y su mision con generosidad y gratitud, con confianza y esperanza, en esta tierra donde comenzo la historia de la salvacion, que hoy continua a traves de ustedes. Es una historia marcada por tribulaciones y dolor, pero nunca carente de la fidelidad y el apoyo de Dios", expreso.

El Cardenal Parolin les aseguro que el Papa Francisco "los lleva a su corazon y siempre ora por ustedes".

"Gracias por su testimonio de fe, probada tambien por el sufrimiento y el martirio. Este testimonio ha sido y sigue siendo un tesoro para toda la Iglesia. Permanezcan firmes en la fe y el amor", alento.
