LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to Foreign Desk News, several graphics have been released on Telegram, all of which call for lone wolf attacks amid New Year celebrations.
The Nashir Media Foundation, a pro-ISIS group, pushed for attacks in heavily trafficked areas such as malls, movie theaters, and even hospitals.
One post shows a knife-wielding Jihad chasing Santa Claus with the caption: "You disbelieving dogs which prepared for Christmas celebrations, be ready for shedding the blood scattering the shreds and funerals, for the eyes of caliphate lions are looking straight towards you and promise you with bitter deaths."
Another reveals a burning "2017" beside a gun-wielding extremist. Above the flaming numbers is the inscription, "We will make your New Year mayhem with bombings and trampling attacks."
More images with similar threats appear on the site, including the message: "Oh disbelievers, As you are preparing for Christmas celebrations, we advise you to prepare your coffins as well. Your celebrations have become a battlefield and a fighting area. So, wait for us."
The messages come after ISIS posted several Christmas and New Year threats, including a list of U.S. churches to attack.
Christmas celebrations came and went without incident, indicating international agencies and law enforcement have been succeeding in their security checks.
Heightened security has allowed for a safe Christmas. Perhaps it will allow for a safe New Year as well.
