'He's just showing that Russia is there on the world stage.'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been making controversial decisions lately, the latest of which involves ten heavily-armed warships passing just off the British coast.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Sun reported eight Russian warships led by a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier are on their way toward the English Channel.

The vessels are on their way to meet up with two more warships just off the British coast, where they are expected to keep moving to reinforce a final assault on the city of Aleppo.

Putin's recent call for all Russians to return to their home country was a curious move, prompting nations worldwide to stay on alert.

Britain's Ministry of Defense chiefs have pledged to carefully survey every move the Russian Northern Fleet makes.

A spokesman explained: "When these ships are near our waters we will man-mark them every step of the way. We will be watching as part of our steadfast commitment to keep Britain safe.

"It is pretty unambiguous that they have set a course to pass through the Dover Strait."

Admiral Lord Allen West, the former head of the Royal Navy, believes Putin is not to be feared. He claims Russia is attempting to call attention to itself as a serious power but it's really "just a bit of willy waving."

He explained further, stating: "It's Putin doing a bit of a willy waving in a sense, saying this is what I can do. He's just showing that Russia is there on the world stage."

Though Admiral West believes Russia isn't planning a serious attack, earlier today a top Russian military expert claimed the Royal Navy was "tiny" and Russian broadcasters claim Putin is prepared to "seize control" of the Mediterranean Sea.

Alexander Khrolenko, a Defense expert for Russian news agency RIA, stated: "While the North Atlantic bloc is stalling in the sands of the Middle East, the Russian Navy seizes control over the Atlantic, not to mention the Mediterranean and Black Seas."

According to the Telegraph, a senior Nato diplomat claimed the Russian fleet would be renewing attacks in Aleppo, but clarified: "They are deploying all of the Northern Fleet and much of the Baltic Fleet in the largest surface deployment since the end of the Cold War.

"This is not a friendly port call. In two weeks, we will see a crescendo of air attacks on Aleppo as part of Russia's strategy to declare victory there."

There are currently about 8,000 rebels in Aleppo, the last large city under rebel influence. Once Aleppo falls, Putin can begin withdrawing.

Some have argued the move is not only to allow Russia to withdraw from the Middle East, but also to show up U.S. forces already present on the coast.

American forces have been at a standstill during the final moments before election day, leaving the honor of battle to the first major force who pulls up.

Is Russia interested in concluding a war or starting one? Thus far, its controversial leader has revealed little and his motives remain in question.
