Warns bishops about conspiracy theories of Vatican skullduggery

At a global Church meeting, Pope Francis warned bishops against conspiracy theories that have been circulating to an attempt to manipulate the synod.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) -Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi confirmed the authenticity of reports claiming Pope Francis warned bishops and cardinals of the Catholic Church to avoid being taken in by "the hermuneutic of conspiracy."

The warning came after reports that conservative and liberal groups in the Catholic Church voiced concerns for the new methodology used in the three-week synod, a method that has already been approved by Pope Francis.
The conspiracy mentality lingering in the minds the conservatives is the result of the radical idea of welcoming homosexuals and remarried divorced couples to the Catholic Church.
Rumors that the 2014 synod was "rigged" and was intended to be in favor of progressives who would want to implement revolutionary changes in the teachings of the Catholic Church have been spreading. Progressives allegedly published an early report regarding the Church opening its doors to lesbian and gay Catholic believers.
The report, which has been confirmed to be a draft, was spiked by conservatives who have arranged the meeting to discuss the most contentious issues at the last minute. This rearrangement, which encourages the heavy topics to be discussed after everyone has already exhausted themselves, has raised several eyebrows.
"There seems to be a mounting tendency on all sides to suspect skullduggery and underhand tactics," Vatican expert John Allen claimed in Cruxnow.
He warned, "the synod may be defined not just by disagreements on substance, but also suspicions of Machiavellian maneuvers along the way."
