Highlights

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) -The local newspaper, De Gerlander, reported that the group of riders were left scared as they dangled 200 feet in the air when the arm of the ride became stuck at its peak.

The ride broke midway through, leaving seven people hanging in the air. Police and ambulances were called. Remarkably, the ride's passengers remained suspended in their seats until the crews helped them safely down to the ground, as the crowd watching on cheered and applauded.

Aside from the theme park's crews, ambulances helped assess the passengers once disembarked the ride. One of the seven riders reported feeling "a little unwell" after that horrifying ride.

What the riders went through is not an easy feat, considering the ride has no side walls at all.

The ride is now closed. According to the local council, there aren't any plans of reopening the ride anytime soon.

This incident should stand as a lesson to all amusement ride designers and operators; they should take precautionary and preventative measures to avoid these kind of accidents from occurring. Ride operators should have immediate measures to fix problems like these. Owners and inspectors should be diligent in carrying out ride inspections. The safety of all passengers should be the utmost priority for ride owners.
