LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - One ISIS fanatic walked busy streets with a gun in his hand. Terrified civilians ran for cover and he opened fire.
It remains unclear whether the man began his attack outside Starbucks before or after three suicide bombers within the coffee shop detonated their vests, but witness Ruli Koestaman described the chaotic scene as best he could:

"I heard a loud bang, boom. It felt like an earthquake. We all went downstairs. We then saw that the Starbucks downstairs was destroyed too. I saw a foreigner -- weseterner [sic], a man -- with mangled hand but alive.
"A Starbucks waiter then ran out with blood coming out of his ear. And I asked anyone [sic] hurt inside, he said yes, one. Dead already. Then everybody gathered and a terrorist appeared. He had a gun and started shooting at us and then at Starbucks. Then the police post... exploded."
The police post explosion was the result of another blast erupting outside the United Nations offices. Other detonated bombs erupted outside the Turkish and Pakistani embassies as well, which left a total of at least 19 people injured.
Security forces took three hours to end the attack outside Starbucks, which killed an Indonesian and Canadian and left twenty people wounded.
After officers took down the shooter, two attackers approached from behind a crowd. One shot an officer and the other fired another officer. Both gunmen were shot and killed, while two others died in the Starbucks parking lot after detonating suicide vests.
There were up to seven explosions and several gunfights in Jakarta that has left an uncertain number of civilians and officers dead.
Tito Karnavian, the Jakarta police chief, said Indonesian national Bahrun Naim, who is believed to currently reside in Syra, was "planning this for a while. He is behind this attack."
Another witness, Risky Julianti, provided her experience with the bombings, saying: "The building was shaking heavily when the blast happened. An office boy shouted 'bomb, bomb' and we quickly ran out to a church nearby. I was very panicked and I was crying. We heard the blasts as we were running to the church."
Jakarta is the world's largest Muslim nation and, according to Aamaaq news agency, The Guardian reported the attacks are believed to have been aimed at "foreigners and the security forces tasked with protecting them in the Indonesian capital."

At the conclusion of the several stand-offs, bags each ISIS fanatic wore were investigated.

Each held weapons including more bombs, guns, ammunition, knives, grenades and detonators.

Military expert Harits Abu Ulya, who knows Naim, believes more attacks are to come.

"This is an indication that he has been learning from the Paris attacks and he has studied the strategy," Ulya reported. "I still have doubts about the capability of the local militants to carry out attacks on a bigger scale. But it is a possibility."
