Reports circulated that the North Korean leader approved final attack operations, but the conflict has been settled.

Although the peninsula is technically still engaged in war, alarm and concern was raised in the region and other parts of the world after a report that North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong Un convened with the country's senior party and defense officials.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - According to CBS Local (Washington) report, a military official from the North said that the communist leader "reviewed and approved the final attack operation" against the South during that meeting. However, North Korea denied instigating any firing at the Demilitarization Zone.

CBS explained that the official offered no further details about the measure North Korea deemed appropriate for its southern rival. But according to the director of the General Reconnaissance Bureau of the North Korean army, Kim Yong Chol, South Korea was not able to give conclusive evidence about where the rocket would come from, dismissing the news as South Korea's human error of assessments.

"Skirmishes can lead to all-out war," said Chol, noting that South Korea's decision to retaliate is dangerous and rash, as cited in the report. South Korea had issued a warning that North Korea will face some "searing" consequences after another aggressive provocation, adding that they are working with the United States on defense to prevent any aggression from the communist rival.

Last Thursday, they fired dozens of artillery rounds in retaliation to what they claim were North Korea's artillery strikes on the border, targeting the loudspeakers installed to broadcast anti-Pyongyang propaganda.

"This time, we'll cut off a vicious circle of North Korean provocation," said South Korea's defense minister Han Minkoo. It was reported that the Supreme Leader had ordered its frontline military to prepare for battle, declaring a "quasi-state of war."

He also gave Seoul a deadline to stop and remove the loudspeakers until Saturday evening, which the South had reportedly refused.
